I am now getting the error:

My old (5.x) code works on 1 user but not on a newly created user, the new 6.x code fails for both users access tokens.

Hi @GerritKuilder, sorry for the incorrect information. The proper way to subscribe to the user events is as follows:

import { createStreamingAPIClient } from "masto";

const streaming = createStreamingAPIClient({
  streamingApiUrl: "<STREAMING API URL>",
  accessToken: "<TOKEN>",
});

const events = streaming.user.subscribe();

for await (const event of events) {
  console.log(event)
}
